The trial lesson is a great opportunity to meet each other in person and form a general idea of what my teaching style is. You will receive a 10% discount for the first month when enrolled within the 10 days after the trial lesson.
If you are a complete beginner I recommend a 30-minute trial lesson
For students with some experience I recommend a 45-minute trial lesson.
During the trial lesson with a beginner student we talk about the goals, simulating real concert stage experience. We choose the most comfortable violin set-up, and start working on body awareness and muscle control.
With intermediate and advanced students we talk about music aesthetics and discuss repertoire choices. I ask you about previous teachers, instructive and artistic repertoire you have learned as well as festivals and competitions attended. I recommend bringing a piece(s) of your choice as well as a scale to perform at the trial lesson. I address technical aspects of your performance and show my approach to sound production. I will outline repertoire goals for a year and suggest exercises, scales and etudes.
